This two-day course equips first responders with the skills to effectively work with the media, build strong relationships, and communicate clearly through social media, press releases, publicity events, and active scenes. The goal is to strengthen trust and collaboration between first responders, the media, and the public.
To equip participants with the skills needed to be full or part-time PIOs, including oral and written communications; understanding and working with the media; and basic tools and techniques to perform effectively as a PIO, both in the proactive/ advocacy times and crisis/ emergency response.
