Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Welcome to The PIO Calendar, operated by PDR Strategies, LLC, doing business as The PIO Calendar (“The PIO Calendar,” “PIO Calendar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of piocalendar.com, related pages, accounts, directories, submission systems, email communications, and other services we provide collectively as the “Platform.”

By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, accepting an invitation, or submitting content, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms are intended to be clear, practical, and respectful of the public-information and professional-communications community we serve.

1. Purpose of The PIO Calendar

The PIO Calendar is an informational and professional-resource platform serving public information officers, public affairs professionals, communicators, emergency managers, instructors, authors, and related professionals.

The Platform may include:

  • Event, training, conference, webinar, and professional-development listings
  • The PIO Calendar Bookshelf
  • PIO Picks: Go Bag & Beyond
  • Author and professional profiles
  • Organization listings
  • The PIO Jobs Network
  • Resources, articles, newsletters, analytics, and discovery tools
  • Account, invitation, submission, and contributor-management services
  • AI-assisted search and information-discovery features

Unless expressly stated otherwise, The PIO Calendar does not organize, operate, accredit, certify, sell admission to, or assume responsibility for third-party events, products, books, jobs, organizations, instructors, or services listed on the Platform.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

Anyone may browse publicly available portions of the Platform. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement to create an account, accept a contributor invitation, submit professional content, or participate in a payment or revenue-sharing program.

When creating or using an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Use only an account and email address you are authorized to use
  • Promptly update information that becomes inaccurate
  • Notify us if you believe an account has been accessed without authorization
  • Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account

Invitations may be restricted to a specific email address. You may be required to sign in or register using the invited address. Invitations are personal and may not be transferred without our approval.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account that violates these Terms, creates a security risk, impersonates another person or organization, or is used fraudulently.

3. Organizations and Authorized Representatives

The Platform may allow users to create, claim, manage, or contribute information for an organization.

By acting for an organization, you represent that you have authority to submit information or manage Platform content on its behalf.

Organization ownership and management access may be reviewed, limited, transferred, or revoked when:

  • Authority cannot be verified
  • Competing ownership claims are submitted
  • An existing profile or organization is already controlled by another account
  • Access creates a security, privacy, or accuracy concern

We will not knowingly transfer or overwrite an organization or professional profile already owned by another account without appropriate review.

4. Event Listings and Accuracy

Event information may be obtained from publicly available sources, event organizers, partner organizations, users, or other authorized submitters.

Although we work to keep listings useful and current:

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, or timeliness of any listing
  • Dates, times, locations, prices, registration requirements, availability, instructors, and other details may change without notice
  • “Save the Date” listings may contain preliminary or incomplete information
  • Status indicators such as “Date Updated,” “Time Updated,” “Rescheduled,” “Postponed,” or “Cancelled” are informational and may not reflect every external change
  • Users must verify important details directly with the event organizer before registering, paying, booking travel, or attending

The PIO Calendar is not responsible for event changes, cancellations, registration disputes, travel expenses, refunds, injuries, losses, or other consequences connected with participation in a listed event.

5. Event and Other Content Submissions

Users may be permitted to submit Events, Bookshelf titles, PIO Picks recommendations, Jobs, profiles, organization information, resources, corrections, reviews, or other content.

By submitting content, you represent that:

  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You have the authority and necessary rights to provide it
  • It does not impersonate another person or organization
  • It does not violate another party’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights
  • It is not fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, unlawful, malicious, or materially misleading
  • Any recommendation described as personal and genuine reflects the contributor’s honest experience and opinion

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant PDR Strategies, LLC a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, edit, format, adapt, publish, display, distribute, archive, promote, and otherwise use the submitted content for operating and promoting The PIO Calendar and its related publications.

This license includes permission to make reasonable editorial, formatting, accessibility, promotional, and technical changes. We will not intentionally change the substantive meaning of a personal recommendation or falsely attribute a statement to a contributor.

We may review, edit, categorize, approve, decline, defer, unpublish, archive, or remove submitted content. Submission does not guarantee publication, placement, promotion, or continued availability.

6. Professional, Instructor, Speaker, and Author Profiles

Professional and author profiles may include biographical information, employment information, areas of expertise, speaking or instructional roles, publications, credentials, contact methods, and professional relationships.

A profile’s presence does not constitute an endorsement, certification, background check, employment recommendation, or guarantee by The PIO Calendar.

Credential indicators reflect information submitted or reviewed through the Platform’s available processes. Users and organizations remain responsible for independently verifying qualifications when making hiring, contracting, instructional, or professional decisions.

Some profile types or capabilities may be unavailable, invitation-only, under development, or subject to administrator approval.

7. The PIO Calendar Bookshelf

The Bookshelf provides informational listings, recommendations, reviews, author information, and links to booksellers or publishers.

The PIO Calendar generally does not sell, stock, price, ship, fulfill, warrant, or accept returns for books purchased through third-party sellers. Pricing, availability, formats, shipping, taxes, refunds, and fulfillment are controlled by the applicable retailer or publisher.

Authors, publishers, and other submitters are responsible for having the rights necessary to provide descriptions, cover images, excerpts, purchase links, and related materials.

Publication on the Bookshelf does not guarantee a favorable review, featured placement, sales, promotion, or continued inclusion.

8. PIO Picks: Go Bag & Beyond

PIO Picks is an invitation-oriented program featuring products genuinely used or recommended by members of the professional community.

Contributors must provide honest, original recommendations and confirm that they personally own and genuinely use a recommended product when that confirmation is required.

Contributors may not:

  • Submit fabricated testimonials or experiences
  • Make false or unsupported product claims
  • Misrepresent ownership, use, qualifications, or relationships
  • Conceal a material connection to a manufacturer, retailer, seller, or other interested party
  • Submit content they are not authorized to provide

Suggested relationships between products remain private until reviewed and approved. Suggestions involving products not yet listed may be retained for future consideration.

Product recommendations reflect contributors’ opinions. The PIO Calendar does not manufacture, sell, warrant, test, certify, or guarantee recommended products unless expressly stated.

Users are responsible for evaluating whether a product is appropriate for their circumstances, employer policies, deployment environment, safety requirements, and intended use.

9. Affiliate Links and Commercial Disclosures

Some Bookshelf, PIO Picks, resource, or other links may be affiliate or referral links. If a qualifying purchase is completed, PDR Strategies, LLC may receive a commission from the retailer or affiliate program.

Affiliate relationships do not increase the price charged by The PIO Calendar, although prices and retailer terms are controlled by the third party.

We intend to identify affiliate relationships clearly near applicable recommendations or purchase links. A product’s inclusion does not guarantee that a commission will be earned, and affiliate participation does not permit false, misleading, or insincere recommendations.

Advertising, sponsorship, featured placement, affiliate participation, and contributor compensation may be identified separately from independent editorial content.

10. Contributor Revenue Sharing

Contributor revenue sharing is available only when expressly enabled by The PIO Calendar and when applicable affiliate-program approval, operational requirements, and contributor terms have been confirmed.

When enabled:

  • Earnings are based only on eligible affiliate commissions actually received by PDR Strategies, LLC
  • Clicks, views, referrals, or estimated retailer activity do not automatically create earnings
  • Earnings may be reduced or reversed because of returns, cancellations, chargebacks, retailer adjustments, attribution changes, program exclusions, taxes, or other corrections
  • Contributor percentages, minimum payout thresholds, payment schedules, eligible products, and payment methods may be configurable
  • Amounts displayed before confirmation may be pending or estimated
  • Contributors are responsible for providing accurate payment and tax information and for their own tax obligations
  • Additional contributor terms may apply and will control if they conflict with this general section

The PIO Calendar does not guarantee commissions, purchases, attribution, earnings, payment frequency, or continued availability of a revenue-sharing program.

Unless affirmatively activated and communicated to eligible contributors, contributor revenue sharing remains disabled.

11. The PIO Jobs Network

Jobs Network listings are provided for informational purposes.

Employers and submitters are responsible for the accuracy, legality, availability, compensation information, application instructions, and employment practices associated with their listings.

The PIO Calendar:

  • Is not the employer, recruiter, staffing agency, or representative of a listed organization unless expressly stated
  • Does not guarantee interviews, employment, applicants, hiring outcomes, compensation, or job availability
  • Does not independently verify every employer, applicant, qualification, or employment term
  • Is not responsible for communications, decisions, disputes, losses, or transactions between employers and applicants

Users should independently evaluate employers and opportunities and should never provide money or sensitive information in response to a suspicious listing.

12. Reviews, Recommendations, and Endorsements

Reviews and recommendations must reflect the contributor’s honest opinion and experience.

Material relationships—including compensation, free products, discounts, employment, family relationships, sponsorships, or other benefits—must be disclosed when they could affect how readers evaluate the recommendation.

We may label, edit, reject, or remove reviews or recommendations that appear deceptive, manipulated, copied, unlawful, irrelevant, or inconsistent with Platform standards.

We do not guarantee that every review or recommendation reflects the experience of every user.

13. AI-Assisted and Automated Features

The Platform may use artificial intelligence, automation, classification, summarization, matching, duplicate detection, or other computational tools to help organize and locate information.

Automated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. It should not be treated as legal, medical, financial, employment, emergency-response, accreditation, safety, or other professional advice.

Users must independently verify important information with the original source or responsible organization.

We may review, correct, restrict, or discontinue automated features at any time.

14. Email and Platform Communications

Depending on your activity and preferences, we may send:

  • Account, login, security, and administrative messages
  • Invitations and invitation reminders
  • Submission confirmations and review decisions
  • Event, Bookshelf, PIO Picks, Profile, or Jobs notices
  • Schedule-change notifications
  • Weekly Digests, Monthly Roundups, Jobs alerts, and other subscribed publications
  • Important service or policy announcements

Some communications are transactional or necessary to operate an account or process a submission. Others are optional marketing or editorial communications.

Marketing emails will provide an unsubscribe method where required. Unsubscribing from marketing messages may not prevent essential account, security, invitation, transaction, or submission-related communications.

You are responsible for maintaining an accurate email address and appropriate mailbox settings.

15. Analytics and Communication Measurements

The Platform may collect operational and analytical information such as page activity, approximate location derived from network information, referral sources, device or browser information, email delivery status, estimated opens, likely-human clicks, automated or scanner-generated clicks, and failures.

These measurements may be approximate and should not be interpreted as proof that a particular person viewed or acted on a message.

Information practices are described more fully in our Privacy Policy.

16. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Platform may link to or integrate with event organizers, retailers, publishers, employers, registration providers, mapping services, social platforms, payment providers, email providers, analytics services, and other third parties.

We do not control and are not responsible for third-party:

  • Content, availability, security, or accessibility
  • Products, services, prices, inventory, or fulfillment
  • Privacy practices or legal terms
  • Registration, hiring, payment, refund, or customer-service decisions

Accessing or using a third-party service is at your discretion and subject to that service’s terms and policies.

17. Intellectual Property

The PIO Calendar name, branding, logos, original text, design elements, software, databases, compilations, and other original Platform materials are owned by or licensed to PDR Strategies, LLC unless otherwise stated.

Event names, organization names, trademarks, book covers, product names, photographs, descriptions, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.

You may not reproduce, scrape, extract, republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the Platform without prior written permission.

Limited personal, professional, noncommercial use of publicly available information is permitted, provided that attribution is preserved and the use does not misrepresent an affiliation with or endorsement by The PIO Calendar.

18. Copyright Complaints

If you believe material on the Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, please send a written notice containing enough information for us to identify the work, locate the material, understand your claim, and contact you.

PDR Strategies, LLC does not sell email addresses or personal information. We may disclose limited information to hosting, email, security, analytics, payment, and other service providers that process information on our behalf, as described in the Privacy Policy.
