Weekly PIO Calendar Digest: October 12, 2026

A Note from Paul

Yesterday, The PIO Calendar reached another exciting milestone: 40,000 website views since launching on February 3! We’re now on track to surpass 60,000 views before the end of the year. Not bad for something that started just eight months ago!

Thank you to everyone who visits the calendar, submits events, explores the Bookshelf, discovers organizations and resources, and shares the site with colleagues. I hope you’re finding it useful, and I truly appreciate your continued support.

We also rolled out significant updates yesterday, including improvements to our event data, analytics, event tracking, and The PIO Calendar Bookshelf. Most of these changes happened behind the scenes, but they’re all part of making the platform more reliable, useful, and easier to navigate. You can read more about the updates below.

Here in New Hampshire, we’re enjoying peak fall foliage season. It’s one of my favorite times of year, with people traveling from all over to see the changing colors. It got me thinking about how much our profession changes, too. New technologies, new challenges, and new ways to reach the people we serve. Just like the seasons, we can’t stop change, but we can prepare for it and make the most of it.

With more than 300 upcoming opportunities on The PIO Calendar, there’s no shortage of ways to keep learning and growing.

Have a great week, and enjoy the fall colors if you’re lucky enough to be near them!
