I really enjoyed The Public Trust because Allison Hudson writes about something that sits at the center of almost everything we do as public information officers: trust.

What stood out to me is how clearly she connects communication, leadership and credibility. This is not just a book about dealing with the media or delivering the right message. It is about the responsibility we have when we speak on behalf of an organization and the importance of building trust long before there is a crisis, controversy or difficult question.

For PIOs and public-sector leaders, this is an easy book to recommend. It is thoughtful, practical and grounded in the realities of the work. I found myself agreeing with a lot of it, reflecting on my own experiences and thinking about how I would use some of the lessons in the classroom and in my own work.
