Weekly PIO Calendar Digest: September 21, 2026

A Note from Paul

Good morning,

After spending last week at NDEMU with the newest graduates of the FEMA Executive Public Information Officer program, I came home reminded just how important it is to keep learning throughout our careers.

Professional development doesn’t always have to mean a weeklong course or a major conference. Sometimes it’s a webinar, a one-day class, a networking opportunity, or simply learning something new from another communicator.

That’s what I love about this week’s calendar. There are 308 upcoming opportunities, with everything from PIO and media relations training to crisis communication, social media, FEMA courses, conferences, and networking events.

Whatever your role or where you are in your career, I hope you find something that helps you learn, grow, or connect with someone new.

Have a great week!
