The PIO Calendar continues to evolve with features designed to improve clarity, transparency, and usability across the platform.
We’ve introduced a new Event Marker system — a set of visual indicators that help you quickly understand key details about each event before you even click.
🏷️ What You’ll See
User Submitted
Events submitted directly by members of the PIO and communications community are now clearly identified.
This adds transparency while reinforcing the collaborative nature of the platform.
New Event
Events added within the last 14 days are marked as “New,” making it easy to spot recently posted trainings, conferences, and opportunities.
This marker updates automatically and expires after 14 days.
Member Only
Events that require membership or restricted access are now labeled accordingly, helping you quickly identify eligibility requirements before clicking through.
(Additional markers — including partner events and other designations — will continue to be introduced as the platform grows.)
🎯 Why This Matters
These markers are designed to help you:
• Scan events faster
• Understand access and source at a glance
• Make quicker decisions about what’s relevant
They are intentionally subtle, consistent, and positioned before the event title to improve visibility without cluttering the experience.
🚀 What’s Next
This is part of a broader effort to make the PIO Calendar not just a listing of events — but a smarter, more intuitive tool for professional development.
More enhancements are already underway.
As always, the platform is built for the profession — and with the profession
