This course is a 16-hour training which will provide participants an opportunity to apply advanced public interview/information skills. Focusing on the PIO interview and public speaking capabilities, participants will experience on-camera presentations, radio broadcasts, newsprint, periodicals, and social media communications using current best practices in the industry.
To equip participants with the skills needed to be full or part-time PIOs, including oral and written communications; understanding and working with the media; and basic tools and techniques to perform effectively as a PIO, both in the proactive/ advocacy times and crisis/ emergency response.
