The PIO Calendar continues to evolve with new features designed to improve clarity, transparency, and usability across the platform.
A new site-wide Event Status Alert Banner is now live.
This feature automatically displays important updates when a future event’s status changes. If a class or conference is postponed, canceled, or moved online, visitors will now see a prominent alert banner at the top of the site.
When active, the alert banner includes:
- The Event Status (Postponed, Canceled, or Moved Online)
- The Event Title with a direct link to the event page
- The Event Date Range
- The Event Location (venue and city/state when available)
- The optional Reason provided by the event organizer
The banner appears only when there are qualifying updates and automatically removes events once they return to “Scheduled” status, move into the past, or age beyond the defined update window.
To ensure a positive user experience, the alert includes a dismiss option. If dismissed, it will remain hidden unless new or updated event status changes occur.
This enhancement reinforces the platform’s commitment to providing accurate, timely information to the Public Information Officer community.
