UT Master PIO

This course is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to be successful as a Public Information Officer. Participants will spend 40 hours exploring topics related to the PIO role. Topics include: PIO role, policy and procedures, brand development, media engagement, crisis communication, managing local and national media stories, emotional intelligence, release of information and open records laws. Classroom will include lecture, group projects, table-top exercises, final group presentation, and graduation.
