UT PIO Essentials

This course is designed to provide students with the essential skills necessary to be successful as a Public Information Officer. Participants will spend 24 hours exploring topics related to the PIO role. Topics include: PIO role, policy and procedures, media engagement, crisis communication, crisis strategy, and managing local and national media stories. The classroom will include lecture, group projects, table-top exercises, a final group presentation, and graduation.
