SUMMARY:Advanced High-Stakes Communications Training (Crisis Ready Autumn Intensive)
DESCRIPTION:When your community is scared\, angry\, or confused\, you’re the person reporters and residents look to for the communications that will help them feel safe and assured. Everything rides on how you communicate. \nThe Crisis Ready Autumn Intensive is built for the moment right before you speak: how to regulate yourself the second stress floods your system\, how to identify the fear-based emotions actually driving the reporters\, the residents\, and your own leadership\, how to build the specific levels of safety a community needs before they can hear anything you say\, and how to bring it all together using a framework that doesn’t just allow you to respond\, but allows you to position yourself and your agency as THE voice of trust and credibility when it matters most. \nThese aren’t the media-training basics most PIOs already have. They’re the advanced skills built for the most challenging moments you’re responsible for leading communications through. \nIn this Intensive\, you’ll build the following skills across four live sessions: \nSession 1\, Leadership Resonance\, Power & Influence: moving your community\, and your own leadership\, from resistance to trust\, while keeping your own nervous system steady and stress lowered. \nSession 2\, Strategizing High-Stakes Communications: the Crisis Ready® Formula for responding to emotional escalation\, practiced against real scenarios\, not hypotheticals. \nSession 3\, AI & the New Crisis Landscape: the Crisis Ready® Engagement Decision Matrix\, and how to use AI to get ahead of misinformation instead of chasing it. \nSession 4\, the VIP bonus working session: hands-on practice to truly help you hone and apply this skillset. \nTaught by Melissa Agnes\, whose bestselling book\, Crisis Ready\, is part of Harvard University’s own curriculum\, was named one of Forbes’ top ten business books of 2018\, and is ranked by Book Authority among the best crisis management books of all time. Melissa has worked with NATO\, the Pentagon\, and government Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense\, and she sat on the international panel that created ISO 22361\, the global standard for crisis management. \nThis Intensive is the difference between knowing what a PIO in a high-stakes moment should do\, and being someone who can actually do it\, in the room\, under pressure. You’ll leave with a deepened approach to your crisis communication skills that will truly serve you when your agency’s credibility is on the line. \nThe Crisis Ready Autumn Intensive runs live\, September 15 through 24\, 2026\, for $950 (VIP bonus session\, $59 more). Enrollment is open now. If you’re the person your agency turns to when everything goes wrong\, check out the details and enrollment in the link below.

SUMMARY:FEMA E/L0388 Advanced Public Information Officer
DESCRIPTION:The National Response Framework (NRF) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) devote significant attention to the importance of emergency public information. Public Information Officers are key members of the ICS and EOC organizations\, and work closely with officials who are part of Multiagency Coordination Groups. PIOs advise the Incident Commander\, Unified Command\, and EOC director on public information relating to incident management. \nWith public information included as a function within NIMS and within ICS\, it is critical to address and provide training for this important element of Emergency Management. \nThe National Disaster & Emergency Management University (NDEMU) Public Information Officer (PIO) training curriculum includes courses delivered at the awareness\, basic\, advanced and master levels. The basic level course was developed by NDEMU and is managed by NDEMU or state emergency management trainers who teach basic skills and techniques for use during small\, localized\, single-agency responses; preparedness campaigns; and escalating localized responses. \nThe advanced level course teaches participants additional skills for use during escalating incidents\, including strategic communications and incident action planning as it relates to Joint Information Center (JIC) operations.

SUMMARY:Boston AI Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:A movement\, not a conference. \nBoston AI Week grew out of the belief that Massachusetts should not experience AI as isolated conferences\, closed-door meetings\, and scattered meetups. SUMMARY:Rad Response in Action Case Studies: Nuclear Explosion\, Nuclear Poison\, & Nuclear Medicine
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to attend a series of virtual workshops designed to strengthen multi agency preparedness for radiological and nuclear emergencies. Sessions will focus on operational coordination\, responder safety\, and effective strategic communication. Registration requires free account creation on the NIPC Events Learning Management System. \nThis live\, instructor-led session examines three radiation case studies involving different exposure pathways and response challenges: the SL-1 reactor prompt criticality accident\, the Alexander Litvinenko polonium-210 poisoning\, and a high-dose-rate brachytherapy overdose incident. Participants will explore how radiation hazards are identified\, how exposure and dose are reconstructed\, how responders and public health partners manage uncertainty\, and how technical facts can be translated into clear communication. The course highlights lessons for emergency response\, health physics\, medical follow-up\, regulatory actions\, and public messaging.

SUMMARY:Boston AI Week 2026 Summit
DESCRIPTION:One day. One room. The people building Massachusetts’ AI economy — and the evidence to prove it. \nThe Boston AI Summit is the flagship conference of Boston AI Week: a single-track\, one-room gathering of the executives\, founders\, investors\, researchers\, and public-sector leaders shaping AI in Massachusetts. The day opens with the official release of The State of AI in Massachusetts 2026 — what thousands of people across the Commonwealth told us about how AI is actually being adopted — and builds from there: evidence\, then discussion\, then more evidence\, until the closing conversation sends the week off.
